Essential Oil Treatments for Cystitis

Cystitis is inflammation of the bladder, commonly cause by bacterial infection, and results in painful and/or difficult urination, and is one of the more common urinary tract infections (UTIs). Rose oil can be used to treat most uterine disorders, and due to its anti-inflammatory properties it is particularly effective in treating cystitis.

Diuretic and antiseptic essential oils are also very helpful in treating and preventing bladder infections, and these include tea tree, bergamot, fennel and cedarwood, and can be used in a message oil or bath oil. Rosemary is a prominent folk medicine, and has been found to be extremely effective in preventing urine infections and stones.

Select 15-20 drops of your preferred essential oils for cystitis and mix with 1 ounce of a carrier oil (grapeseed oil is a good option). You can apply the mixture on the lower back, thighs and pelvis are and apply 2-3 times a day.

Take 15-20 drops of your preferred essential oils for cystitis and mix with 2 ounces of carrier oil of your choosing. Apply the mixture into the water only after the water has stopped flowing. Add the mixture while the water is running to evaporate the mixture and reduce the potency. Sit and soak in water for 10-15 minutes.
