Essential Oil Treatments for Menopausal Problems

Menopause refers to the later stage of a woman’s life, heralded by the ceasing of menstruation, typically between the ages of 45 and 50. It is an ongoing period of change, rather than a one-off event, and has many physical and emotional symptoms, as it is a period characterised by hormonal imbalance; common associated symptoms include hot flushes and mood swings.

Early menopause can be treated with the use of spearmint oil, which induces the release of estrogen. Myrrh and geranium both help with hormone imbalance, and rose, black cohosh and red clover are all found to be particularly beneficial during menopause.
