Genito-Urinary Essential Oil Treatment

Essential Oil Treatments for Urinary Infection

Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs), are common infections that occur in the bladder, urethra, and/or kidneys. Some essential oils are natural diuretics, and so can be used to both prevent and treat bladder infections; these include tea tree, bergamot, cedarwood and fennel. They can be applied topically via massage, or drops added to a bath.

A tincture or tea can also be prepared and taken to treat urinary tract infections, by combining dandelion, nettle leaf and rose hips. Rose oil and oregano oil are also used to treat uterine and urinary tract disorders. Rosemary is a traditional folk remedy used to treat urinary infections, as it strongly inhibits urease, which is found in infected urine, and also helps prevent the formation of kidney stones.

Application Usages

Massage Oils Application

Select 15-20 drops of your preferred essential oils for urinary infection and mix with 1 ounce of a carrier oil (grapeseed oil is a good option). You can apply the mixture on the lower back, thighs and pelvis area and apply it 2-3 times a day.

Bath Application

Take 15-20 drops of your preferred essential oils for urinary infection and mix with 2 ounces of carrier oil of your choosing. Apply the mixture into the water only after the water has stopped flowing. Add the mixture while the water is running to evaporate the mixture and
reduce the potency. Sit and soak in water for 10-15 minutes.
