The essential oil blends well with Basil, Black Pepper, Chamomile-Roman, Geranium, Grapefruit, Jasmine, Juniper Berry, Lemon, Myrrh, Neroli (Orange Blossom), Nutmeg, Palmarosa, Patchouli, Petitgrain, Cinnamon, Clary Sage, Clove Bud, Frankincense, Rose, Sandalwood, and Ylang Ylang.

The Mandarin Red essential oil is native to Southern China and the Far East. Mandarin is mainly cultivated in Spain, Italy, Cyprus, Algeria, Greece, the Middle East and Brazil. The Tangerine variant is produced in California, Florida, Texas and Guinea.

The name ‘Mandarin’ is derived from the fruit that was a traditional gift to the Mandarins of China. In France, the Mandarin fruit was recognized as a safe, natural remedy for ailments affecting children which included hiccoughs, indigestion and many more.

Mandarin was employed by the elderly to help strengthen the liver and digestive functions. The plant was bought to the Europe in 1805 and was later introduced to the USA around 1845, where it was renamed Tangerine.

The Red Mandarin essential oil is extracted via Cold Compress from the peel of the fruit.

In this method the peel of the fruit is penetrated while rolling over a trough. The tiny pouches which contain the essential oil is pierced and the whole fruit is pressed to squeeze the juice & the essential oil from the pulp.

The essential oil rises to the surface of the juice that is extracted from the fruit. The essential oil is extracted from the juice via centrifugation process. Please note that the essential oil produced from this method have a short life span after which, the quality of the oil begins to deteriorate.
