Hair Care Treatment
Essential oils have long been used to improve the general appearance and health of hair, and to treat hair-related ailments, such as hair loss, dandruff and premature greying. You should choose which essential oil you use depending on what your particular complaint is. For example, lavender oil is particularly good for promoting hair growth, preventing hair loss, and treating dandruff, as it promotes blood circulation in the scalp, which stimulates hair follicles and balances sebum production.
Rosemary and sage oil are natural hair thickeners, and lemon oil has antiseptic and antimicrobial properties that help prevent and/or treat secondary infections that might aggravate dandruff. Tea tree oil, which is extracted from the Melaleuca alternifolia, an Australian tree, is considered the absolute best treatment for dandruff. The Romans were particularly fond of applying aromatic to their hair.
