Method of Extraction

The Apricot Kernel carrier oil is extracted via the Expeller Pressed – Unrefined method. The Expeller pressed extraction method consist of mechanically pressing the botanical material (Prunus Armeniaca) at high pressure to acquire the purest and maximum yield from the botanical material.

Expeller pressed oils maintain a high pressure during extraction which can cause the temperature to rise above 120 degrees. Once the temperature rises above 120 degrees, the extraction method is regarded as Expeller Pressed. However, if the temperature is monitored and kept under 120 degrees, it is considered to be cold pressed. The carrier oil is Unrefined, therefore it has not been bleached or deodorized after extraction.
