The Macadamia nut tree is native to Australia. Since 1930, Macadamia has been cultivated throughout the Pacific region, specifically Hawaii as well as South America.

For thousands of years prior to European settlements, Australian Aborigines ate the native Macadamia seed that grew in the eastern Australian rainforests. One of these seeds was called  (M. integrifolia), which was later labelled as “kindal” by early Europeans. In New South Wales, the southern species is known traditionally as boombera (M. tetraphylla).

The Macadamia Nut carrier oil is extracted via the Cold Pressed – Unrefined method.

The Cold pressed extraction method also known as cold expeller pressed oils consist of mechanically pressing the botanical material, which separates the fatty portions of the botanical, leaving behind a pure high quality carrier oil. During the mechanical pressing procedure, the maximum temperature (caused by friction) does not exceed 120 degrees. The carrier oil is Unrefined, therefore it has not been bleached or deodorized after extraction.
