The Lime essential oil has an olive-green or pale yellow liquid complexion with a sweet, fresh, citrus-peel odor.

The essential oil blends well with citronella, neroli, lavender, lavandin, rosemary, clary sage and other citrus oils.

Lime essential oil has a thin consistency.

Principal Constituents

The Lemongrass essential oil contains up to 85% of citral, geraniol, borneol, methyl-eugenol, dipentene. Constituents may vary according to type.

The Lime essential oil is native to South Asia and is now naturalized in many subtropical and tropical regions across the world.

Lime is primarily cultivated in Central America (Mexico), South Florida, the West Indies (Cuba) and Italy.

Lime is often used extensively in place of Lemon in which, both share many qualities.

Lime’s medicinal benefits include combating infections, fever, sore throat, colds. In the past, Lime has been used to treat dyspepsia with pepsin and glycerin.

Method of Extraction

The Lime essential oil is extracted via Cold Compress from the peel of the fruit.

In this method the peel of the fruit is penetrated while rolling over a trough. The tiny pouches which contain the essential oil is pierced and the whole fruit is pressed to squeeze the juice & the essential oil from the pulp.

The essential oil rises to the surface of the juice that is extracted from the fruit. The essential oil is extracted from the juice via centrifugation process. Please note that the essential oil produced from this method have a short life span after which, the quality of the oil begins to deteriorate.

Cemistry Testing

Using industry best practices, the Lime essential oil is tested with a Gas Chromotographic Spectrometer to ensure that correct beneficial compounds are at the essential levels required for a true therapeutic effect.
